Gentle Yoga: Breathe • Relax • Stretch
​Join Kay Boyce, Certified Yoga instructor, for this Gentle Yoga Class, with attention to correct alignment, breath work, and stretches. You will build strength, tone muscle and find new flexibility. This class is great for those new to yoga, or who simply want to enhance their personal yoga practice. Bring your own yoga mat and a cotton blanket or large beach towel.

Adult Pickleball Lessons
​“The fastest growing sport in America”. Join IPTPA Certified Pickleball instructor, Lisa Hadley, for an introduction to this wonderful lifetime sport. Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis. The court is smaller than the tennis court so not as much ground to cover and easier on the body. Tuesday's will be for first time players or beginners and Thursdays will be for advanced beginner/ intermediate instruction. Bring a paddle, water, sunscreen and a snack. Come join Lisa to see what all the “craze” is about!

Early Morning Boot Camp
​As a group you will work with your neighbors, supporting and being supported to obtain your fitness goals. Each workout is a mix of cardio and strength training, using your own body weight as well as some small equipment. All levels of fitness are welcome! This is a fun, motivating way to get fit and a great way to kick start your day!
Minimum: 10 participants

Ukulele Lessons
​Have you been wanting to try something new? Join the fun and learn how to play the Ukulele! Instructor, Clare Innes, will teach beginners how to play, even if you have no musical background. Learn to make chords, strum smoothly, and gain confidence in playing along with others. Bring a ukulele, an electronic clip-on tuner, and an adventurous spirit. For those with left-hand, baritone, or low-G ukuleles, the ability to translate chords yourself is needed. Participants must be 18 years or older. Please inquire if you need to purchase a clip-on tuner.

Forest Bathing
​“Forest Bathing” and “taking in the atmosphere of the forest” are both direct translations of Shinrin-Yoku. Shinrin-Yoku is the scientifically-backed Japanese tradition of nature immersion for wellness that began in 1982 and is just now catching on in the United States. Occurring throughout the different seasons of Vermont, this series will introduce you to this practice of nature mindfulness and will give you the techniques to develop a deeper and more meaningful relationship to the natural world.
Maximum 15 participants/walk.
Certified Guide: Duncan Murdoch
Cost: $25/walk.

Shotokan Karate
​For adults & kids ages 8 and up. Improve your fitness level, challenge yourself and have fun! Karate is a weaponless means of self-defense, consisting of dynamic offensive and defensive techniques, using all parts of the body to their maximum advantage. This program will help students develop physical skills such as eye hand coordination, mental focus, leadership and partnership skills while building self-confidence and character through basic Shotokan Karate Techniques. (Fee does not include required uniform.)

Shelburne Community Gardens
​Located at the LaPlatte Nature Center off LaPlatte Circle, the gardens offer tilled plots with water access. A limited number of plots are available for 2019 on a first come, first serve basis. Gardening agreement forms are available at the Recreation Office or call for more information. New gardeners may sign up beginning April 2nd. Plots will be ready by Memorial Day weekend.
