YANG 24 (Short Form) Tai Chi 
Would you like to improve your balance? Sharpen your concentration? Enhance peace of mind? Tai chi is the way. Yang 24 is the most widely practiced tai chi form in the world. More often than not, those groups of people practicing tai chi in public parks are executing Yang 24. The form is elegant and flowing with large, sweeping movements; it is suitable for all age demographics. Please pre-register with Shelburne Parks & Recreation. This is a no-fee class. Pickleball Lessons
​“The fastest growing sport in America”. Join IPTPA Certified Pickleball instructor, Lisa Hadley, for an introduction to this wonderful lifetime sport. Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis. The court is smaller than the tennis court so not as much ground to cover and easier on the body. Monday’s will be for first time players or beginners and Tuesdays will be for advanced beginner/ intermediate instruction. Bring a paddle, water, and sunscreen. Paddles are available to purchase. Come see what all the “craze” is about!

Early Morning Boot Camp
​As a group you will work with your neighbors, supporting and being supported to obtain your fitness goals. Each workout is a mix of cardio and strength training, using your own body weight as well as some small equipment. All levels of fitness are welcome! This is a fun, motivating way to get fit and a great way to kick start your day!

Gentle Yoga
​Breathe  • Relax  • Stretch

​Join Kay Boyce, Certified Yoga instructor, for this Gentle Yoga Class, with attention to correct alignment, breath work, and stretches. You will build strength, tone muscle and find new flexibility. This class is great for those new to yoga or who simply want to enhance their personal yoga practice. Bring your own yoga mat and a cotton blanket or large beach towel.

Shotokan Karate 
​For adults & kids ages 8 and up. Improve your fitness level, challenge yourself and have fun! Karate is a weaponless means of self-defense, consisting of dynamic offensive and defensive techniques, using all parts of the body to their maximum advantage. This program will help students develop physical skills such as eye hand coordination, mental focus, leadership and partnership skills while building self-confidence and character through basic Shotokan Karate Techniques. ​3 on 3 matches with higher level play. This night is more competitive and intense.

Basics of Home Composting
​Chittenden Solid Waste’s Community Outreach Coordinator, Lauren Layn, will outline the benefits of “closing the loop” with your own household food scraps and yard debris in a presentation on maintaining a healthy compost system. In 2012, the Vermont Legislature unanimously passed the Universal Recycling Law (Act 148), and this presentation focuses on keeping organic materials--like food scraps and other food waste – out of the landfill, which we be required for all Vermonters by 2020. You will learn:

​ · Where to locate your bin · What to put into your bin (and what to avoid!)
​ · How to manage your bin
​ · Troubleshooting
​· Harvesting your compost
​ · Alternatives to a backyard bin (pick up service, or drop-off composting) Workshop

Free Senior Walking Program
​Stay active and healthy during the icy and cold winter months by walking in a safe and warm environment. Please bring a pair of clean, dry soft-soled shoes with you and change before entering the gym. No registration is required. Shelburne Residents only. Schedule is subject to change! Call 802-985-9551 for updated schedule info. or check calendar on gym door as there are black out dates due to other scheduled events.
