SHELBURNE YOUTH LACROSSE Registration Deadline: March 6, 2023
For Grades 3rd-8th: There will be a $10 late fee added after March 6! Registrations received after March 6 will be placed on wait list and let in as space allows. Online registration will close on March 6.
Scholarships for registration fees and equipment are available through the John Scotnicki Scholarship Fund. Please call 802-985-9551 for more information.
* IMPORTANT PRACTICE INFO! Practice schedules below are tentative and subject to change due to coaches’ availability. The season starts with indoor practices that will vary based on indoor space availability. The set practice days/ times listed below for grades 3rd-8th apply to outdoor practices starting after April Break.
Kindergarten (Coed) Registration Deadline: March 6, 2023 Cost: $55.00 This program will provide a basic skills introduction to our youngest players in a safe and controlled environment. Players will enjoy a fun clinic from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Saturday mornings. This program starts May 6th and ends June 10th. Equipment: Stick is included in the price of registration! Mouth guard is recommended. Parent helpers are needed!
1st-2nd Grade (Coed) Registration Deadline: March 6, 2023 Cost: $55.00 This program is designed to give the basic skills to these young beginners in a safe, controlled environment. Players will practice on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and then will be split into teams for small, sided games on Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. This program starts on May 3rd and ends June 10th. Equipment: Stick is included in the price of registration! If you already have a mini stick from last year and don’t want a new one, the registration cost is $30. Mouth guard is recommended. Parent coach volunteers are needed! Please sign up at time of registration.
GIRLS 3rd-4th, 5th-6th, 7th-8th Grades Registration Deadline: March 6, 2023 Cost: $55.00 US Lacrosse annual membership required Girls 3/4 will practice twice a week in the evenings at SCS. Girls 5/6 will practice twice a week in the evenings at the Field House Fields. Girls 7/8 will practice 2-3 times per week in the evenings at the Field House Fields. All levels will play in the Northern Vermont Girls Lacrosse League on Sundays in May and early June. SYL will provide game jerseys or t-shirts for each team. Equipment:** Players must provide their own stick, eye cage, and mouth guard.
BOYS 3rd-4th, 5th-6th, 7th-8th Grades Registration Deadline: March 6, 2023 Cost: $55.00 US Lacrosse annual membership required Boys 3/4 will practice twice a week in the evening at SCS. Boys 5/6 will practice twice a week in the evening at the Field House Fields. Boys 7/8 will practice three times a week in the evening at the Field House Fields. All levels will compete on Saturdays in the Northern Vermont Boys Lacrosse League in May and early June. SYL will provide game jerseys. Equipment:** Players must provide their own equipment, which includes: helmet, mouth guard, gloves, shoulder pads, elbow pads, cup and a stick. Players must wear a mouth guard at all practices and games.
** U.S. LACROSSE REQUIREMENTS The Northern Vermont Boys and Girls Youth Lacrosse League requires that all players in grades 3rd – 8th be registered U.S. Lacrosse Members. All participants will be required to register themselves with US Lacrosse and provide Shelburne Recreation with your US lacrosse membership number by March 14th. Register at: www.uslacrosse.org. There is a $30 annual fee.
NON-RESIDENT POLICY: Residents in the CVU School District must register in their own town. We will work with each Recreation Department in the CVU District to ensure that players in our district have the opportunity to play and will pool resources as best fit, but you must be registered in your own town for consideration. Beyond the CVSD area, non-residents interested in participating in our program may contact us to be put on a wait list ONLY IF the town you reside in does not offer a Lacrosse program for your age level. Non-residents will be charged a $10.00 non-resident fee. We will determine after the registration deadline if there is room to accommodate players on the wait list. Players registered in the CVSD towns will receive priority.
